Frederick House is a twenty five room bed and breakfast hotel in downtown Staunton, Virginia, the oldest city in the Shenandoah Valley. This bed and breakfast is located, across from Mary Baldwin College, two blocks from Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library, and Blackfriars Playhouse, one of only two authentic Shakespeare theaters in the world. walk to shops, galleries, museums, wine tasting, and music venues, including folk, classical, jazz and bluegrass. Stop to enjoy homemade ice cream, gelato, sherbet, or homemade chocolate candy along the way. Breakfast is served daily between 7:30 and 10:00 am. Sit at your table in Chumleys Tearoom, select from our menu, and we will bring to your table our delicious homemade breakfast. Choices include Apple Raisin Quiche, Ham and Cheese Pie, Strata (a casserole with sausage, cheese, bread and eggs), Granola with Yogurt and Fruit, Hot or Cold Cereal, or 7 grain waffles with real maple syrup. Fresh fruit and our house made sweet breads are served with each breakfast. Staunton is a desirable location for Virginia meetings, family reunions, or small weddings, because of its central location in the Shenandoah Valley.
Our downtown location is a convenient driving distance from many urban areas. Our locale provides opportunities for recreation during the day, including museums, horseback riding, fly fishing and golf. We are also conveniently situated near evening entertainment at Blackfriars Playhouse or Mockingbird Roots Music Hall. Frederick House has meeting rooms for up to 25 persons. We have a large room that offers a variety of seating plans and another room in the same building provides additional space for smaller groups. Approaching Staunton from any direction, follow signs to Woodrow Wilson Library and Mary Baldwin College. Turn onto Frederick Street and continue with Mary Baldwin College on your right. After two blocks, Frederick House will be on your left. Continue past Frederick House to Augusta Street and turn left. Go half a block and turn left into the Augusta Street parking lot. Continue until you see Frederick House entrance on your left in a vine covered building with a curved awning over the red door. Parking is available on the Frederick House parking lot to the left of the entrance. Leave your luggage in your car when you come to reception to register. At reception, we will provide information about your room, restaurants and attractions in Staunton.
