Squire Tarbox Inn is the perfect place for your wedding or other special event. An historical Inn on the National Register of Historic Places, A quiet country Inn surrounded by fields, stone walls and woods. A peaceful salt-water marsh beckons beyond the pasture while several barns house goats and chickens. This Maine Bed and Breakfast is located away from tourist crowds but situated conveniently for midcoast Maine coastal adventures.
The Squire Tarbox Inn combines the best of 18th- and 19th-century character.
There are eleven beautiful comfortable guestrooms, each with private bath. Combining the charm of antiquity with modern comforts, each of the rooms is adorned with handmade quilts and antiques, all reflecting New England style and tradition. The main house rooms, where the Squire once lived, are more formal, with high ceilings, decorative moldings, king size beds and wood-burning fireplaces.
On the other side off of the Carriage Barn sitting room, the rooms have queen size beds, are more rustic with exposed beams and a cozy, country feel. Come and enjoy fine dining in a country setting. Enjoy our organic produce grown on our own small farm & the Squire Tarbox Farm
Directions to The Squire Tarbox Inn: Located mid way between Boston and Bar Harbor in the Boothbay Region and one hour (about 50 miles) north of Portland, along the coast. From the south: Take I-95 to I-295. (Note: any maps printed before 2004 still show the existing I-295 as I-95..please be aware of this. Do not take the I-95 past Portland as you will end up in Augusta and not to the coastal area). Take exit 28 (formerly exit 22) off of I-295 – Brunswick/Bath. Follow Route 1 North. Stay on Route 1 through Brunswick and Bath. When you go over the Bath bridge, look at your odometer and go another 7 miles on Route One (about 7 minutes). By Norm’s used cars turn right off of Route 1 onto Route 144; you will then take a left and another right, always staying on 144, for 8 1/2 miles. The Inn is on the right – you can’t miss us. From the north: Taking Route 1 south go through the village of Wiscasset and about 1 mile after you will come to Birch Point Road. Watch for our blue road sign. Take a left onto Birch Point and go for about 2 miles, then another left onto Route 144. It is 8 1/2 miles from the time you leave Route 1.
