Crochet House Bed and Breakfast Houma Louisiana.

The South Louisiana Bayou is one of the world's largest wetlands and Terrebonne Parish is the land of Mardi Gras, second only to New Orleans.

Welcome to authentic Cajun culture where the French language is still alive. Enjoy a blending of people, places, food, music, storytellers and crafters. Welcome to the old time traditions handed down generation after generation and where Cajun English has to be translated.

You can still order Jambalaya, Crawfish Pie or File Gumbo at a Cajun restaurant and a visit to Cajun country will be one of the most enjoyable vacations you''ll ever take!

Your hosts, Leland and Sally Crochet are lifelong residents of Terrebonne Parish. Both speak Cajun French and they were part of the first generation to speak English in this French speaking community. They have 3 children (1 boy and 2 girls) and 8 grandchildren. Leland enjoys golf, fishing and hunting. Sally loves to cook and paint. Nearly all the paintings in the B&B are done by Sally.

The Crochet House is located 1 hour from New Orleans Airport and a few blocks from the new Houma Civic Center.

Out of New Orleans Airport:
Turn right on Hwy 61 until you reach Hwy 310 Boutte-Luting. You will reach Hwy 90; turn right to Houma. There are 4 exits when you reach Houma (Hwy 182 and Hwy 316). The third exit is Hwy 24 and the 4th exit is Hwy 311. Either one of these 2 exits you will turn left on, heading south towards Houma. Approximately 15 minutes down you will reach St. Charles St., where you will turn right, following down until you reach Summerfield Dr. At Summerfield Dr turn left. Go 2 blocks down and on the third block, it's the first house on the right.

We look forward to your visit. Sally & Leland Crochet
